Just like laser, the treatment must be renewed multiple times to destroy hair in anagen phase (growth) on the targeted area. Multiple sessions must be planned based on the hair cycle. Indeed, each session, the removed follicles are the ones that were “sleeping” (catagen phase) during the previous session. This is why the treatment can last 12 to 18 months depending on the zone.
It is worth noting that new hair can appear throughout life under the hormonal or medicinal influence. Touch ups can happen.
Because of the one by one hair removal, this method can seem long. Yet, it is the most impressive method to permanently remove hair.
In the weeks preceding the session, it is important to avoid sun exposure just as removing hair or bleaching them (chemically or naturally). Depending on the targeted zone, an anesthetizing cream can be applied just before the session.
During the session, the practitioner will use an electric device. Thanks to a hand piece equipped with a very thin needle, he/she will reach the pilosebaceous follicle until the bulb to neutralize it thanks to a low voltage electric impulsion. He then proceeds to the one by one hair removal.
Sometimes, redness and secondary swellings can appear after the session. They last from 48 hours to 8 days depending on the treated zone. Your practitioner will help you choose a calming cream to apply. He or she is there for you.
Avoiding sun exposure is important; usually 8 to 10 days after each session.
The cost for permanent hair removal via electrolysis is 100 euros per hour (pro rata of time spent). It usually takes 20 minutes per session for the face or 2 hours per session for a bigger zone on the body such as the legs. During your first consultation, your practitioner of Clinique du Lac gives you a personalized quote with an estimation of the sessions necessary based on what you want.
